Food and wine (magazine research)

The cover layout of this magazine has a dark layout and a dark background. Set in the center however is a turkey that apparently seems to have a turkey set on fire in the middle. Most likely to achieve inquiry and awe to thee audience. Most of the color scheme and layout is extremely dark and then have some sort of light center object to provide a level of awe in the article and magazine. That also goes for the table of contents and the majority of the articles. Some of the artivles that appear in the magazine are some for example, “mad genius cookies” on page 38 and killer “potato pancakes on page” 52. With ads they are usually spaced out directly after the articles and thee directly before the next one. For example occurring on page 49 to 51 for example. Mostly geared towards the family style of kitchen utensils things used to cut or clean in the kitchen. The article is a monthly issue and is published 12 times a year. Usually having magazines that depict what holiday is in that month and the dishes that are surrounding that holiday.

Bon Apetit is another large Food Magazine Enterprise that is in the national spotlight. Bon Apetit has been able to distribute is magazine and articles all online. As well as having a subscription service. Bon Apetit uses their website to stir interest and to digitally distribute thier magazine. This article labeled on the website "Top 10 Dishes in march" They use this to help create engagement and the website allows them to digitally distribute not only their magazine but also the articles. When the company allows their articles to be published separately of the magazine, it helps stir interest in the reader. This creates a sense of interest from the reader into then wanting to buy a subscription to read other articles in the magazine. Which then helps distribute the magazine to the readers online if they are buying more subscrptions. Creative Critical Reflection #1

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My project is conventional and uses conventions throughout the magazine.Typically the front cover of a magazine has a mid shot to a close up for a background and it typically has the Magazine title with the other announcements on the page. This is typically what a conventional magazine. The color of thee magazine in this instance is extremely bright and has more lighting in the picture. A magazine typically can both have darker lighting and also can have a lighter type of lighting. My magazine has a dark lighting which is still conventional compared to other magazines. So as you can see my magazine has darker lighting which is stereotypically conventional compared to other magazines. So the front cover is mostly conventional with what most other magazines have. 3rd quarter revison/submission

These are my revisions for the third quarter. If you look at the comparisons you can see that the table of contents and the cover for the magazine have changed drastically since the beginning forms of the magazine. For the table of contents i changed the layout of the page to make it more organized. Instead of having it more simple i created it to be more appealing. As well as to make it easier for the reader to find out where they should be going. The coverpage i made it so the reader would be drawn to a few certain areas of the page. I changed the font and the location of the words to make it overall more appealing to the reader. The editing of the final submission is still a work in progress however. Throughout the continuation of the next few weeks i will be editing the spread of the two magazine articles. by adding new pictures and changing the layout of the page.
